Welcome to the music page. My name is LInda Walker and I have been the music teacher at Madison for 24 years .My husband and I have lived in North Conway for 46 years and we have three grown cndhildren and five grandchildren. FIve years ago, my music room moved to the Little Red School House, where we can be a loud as we'd like to be.
Each class has music once a week for 40 minutes. The music curriculum is sequential, so we start with Families of Instruments, Rhythm, Duration of Notes, and build upon these elements each year. In second grade we add the notes of the treble clef, in third grade we start playing the recorder. In fourth we add chorus and instrument instruction, if they so choose. In sixth grade we add the notes of the bass clef. Composers and keyboards are also studied in most of the grade levels. All in all we are very busy, and most importantly, having some fun in music class.
